This tour goes further south beyond the Gilf El Kebir plateau to Gebel Uweinat, which lies partially in the Sudanese and Lybian lands as well as the Egyptian land. Discover Karkur Talh, famous for its walls paintings. On returning back a stop at the craters and roaming around the area would be like walking on the moon. Later we will stop at Wadi Sura to compare the wall paintings existing there with those we have discovered in Karkur Talh.
More discoveries will be awaiting you at Wadi Abd El Malek before crossing the great Sand Sea with its famous Silica Glass and gigantic sand dunes. This is a great adventurous way to conclude this explorer's expedition.

SILICA GLASS.
Yellow to green translucent stone found only in the Great Sand Sea due to a sudden heating of the sand caused by an ancient meteor.
Recently a researcher proved that the rare semi-precious stone in the middle of the Tut Ankh Amun's royal pectoral (kept in The Egyptian Museum in Cairo) is a silica glass. On the 10th day of this tour you will have the chance to examine this stone in its original location.

WADI ABD EL MALEK.
Wadi Abd El Malek is a hidden valley cutting the Gilf plateau from north to south for 90 km. It was mistakenly believed to be the legendary lost oasis named 'Zarzoura' that was famous for keeping its hidden treasures.

During the safari you will have time to discover this valley and camp on its soft ground. You will also see some unexpected vegetation and maybe traces of animals like gazelles that dwell in the area.
